Charles Ormond Eames, Jr and Bernice Alexandra "Ray" Kaiser Eames were an American married couple who made significant historical contributions to the development of what is now classed as modern design and architecture through the work of The Eames Office. Among their most well-known designs is the Eames DAW Chair, famously constructed from fibreglass, these were and still are a chair that is worth investing in, beautiful and elegant. During Charles and Ray’s career they worked in the fields of industrial and graphic design, fine art, and film, with Charles as the mouthpiece and public face of the Eames Office, but Ray and Charles would occasionally work together as creative, whilst aiming to employee diverse creative staff.
